Indianapolis Executive Airport (KTYQ), a public airport in Zionsville, Hamilton County, Indiana, has been recreated for MSFS by developer UK2000, who continues to offer new airports in the United States besides their usual work in the British Isles. KTYQ began its operations in 1957 as Terry Airport and has since expanded and undergone significant development. Today, it is a vital link between the Indianapolis metropolitan area and its aviation community.
UK2000 team has meticulously crafted the airport scenery based on the real-world airport as it was in 2022, ensuring an accurate and immersive experience for MSFS simmers who enjoy flying in this area. The scenery features high-definition photographic textures with PBR materials, resulting in realistic ground markings, buildings, and vegetation.
Microsoft Flight Simulator’s powerful engine allowed the developers to incorporate sloping runways and enhanced lighting effects, which were not previously possible in other simulators. The release also includes an ILS instrument approach for runway 36 and RNAV approaches for 18 and 36, accompanied by two-light PAPI glide path indicators.
The airport scenery boasts a new terminal building, complete with a pilot’s lounge, conference rooms, a restaurant, a range of airport vehicles, and a full set of signs. The scenery also includes optional static aircraft to further enhance the airport environment without interfering with AI traffic.
