After the Typhoon, CJ Simulations is back with a new project: the Rafale!

CJ Simulations, a collaborative venture between DC Designs and developer CodenameJack, have announced their follow-up project to the Eurofighter Typhoon that was released last year. The team is now nearing completion of another European jet fighter, the Rafale. Both PC and Xbox players will soon be able to pilot this aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator!

The Rafale is a French twin-engine, canard delta wing, multirole fighter aircraft designed and built by Dassault Aviation. Equipped with a wide range of weapons, the Rafale is intended to perform air supremacy, interdiction, aerial reconnaissance, ground support, in-depth strike, anti-ship strike, and nuclear deterrence missions.

According to CodenameJack447, the new aircraft models will include a significant jump in geometric detail. The total count of geometric elements will be 3.5 times higher than their previous Typhoon model. Despite the high level of detail, CJ Simulations aims to ensure the new models do not negatively affect game performance.

As for the avionics, these will not be a completely accurate portrayal due to the classified nature of the aircraft’s documentation, the team assures users that the representation will be as close as possible within the simulator’s constraints.

The exact release date of the Rafale on Microsoft Flight Simulator has not yet been announced. However, the team at CJ Simulations confirmed that the release will happen directly in the MSFS Marketplace and therefore the Rafale will also be available on Xbox.

The announcement came with the first images of the aircraft, which showcase its current state in terms of exterior and interior visuals. The team warns that this is very much a work in progress and that no conclusions should be made regarding its final appearance in the simulator. Check them out above and stay on the lookout for further information in the coming weeks!
